I had an art studio in Wimbledon around 2009, which is when I began combining my love of art with all things vintage, finding ways to make those domestic bits and bobs useful again—or at least re-appreciated. I’ve always been drawn to the humdrum items from our parents’ and grandparents’ homes, the everyday pieces picked up at jumble sales and the like, and my vintage assembled dolls became a homage to these objects of daily life now long out of use. From there, a natural progression was the creation of memory domes—tiny worlds made to house the countless old trinkets, ornaments, and fragments I’d collected. Each dome became a scene in itself, telling a strange, fairy-tale-like story of a bygone era.
